Strange Animals

Almost everyone now days have watched Discovery Channel and Animal Planet and seen all kinds of weird and strange animals. In this hub I hoping to maybe introduce you to a few of the stranger animals on this wonderful planet that just maybe you haven't already seen.

Barnyard animals do not get much stranger than this! This weird animal is called a Belgian Blue. Belgian Blue are known for their well sculpted muscular bodies. A lot of people call animals with natural mutation double muscled animals.

The Belgian Blue can thank it's muscular appearance to not only the natural mutation in it's genes, but also through a very selective breeding program.

We have all seen polar bears either on television or at the local zoo, these giant white bears are fun to watch and almost every one knows that they only come in one color and that color is white!

Well that is not always the case! Yes they are all born white, but sometimes believe it or not they turn purple! Yes that is right purple! At least that is what happened to this polar bear at the Mendoza City Zoo in Argentina. It seams the bear had a skin condition and the medicine that the zoo keepers gave the bear to clear up the condition changed the bears color to purple. Don't worry though the purple color was only temporary and wore off after a short amount of time.

This amazing shark weighed in at a record 1,262 pounds and measured 14.5 feet long breaking the hammerhead shark fishing record!

This amazing fish was caught by Bucky Dennis on May 23, 2006 off of the coast of Florida, but what was really amazing about this world record catch was the fact that inside of this female shark were 55 little hammerhead pups that were almost ready to be born. This is the first time in history that marine scientists have seen that many shark pups from a single female shark.
